Richard Kent, M.D., President and CEO
Formerly Senior Vice President, Global Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at GlaxoSmithKline, and President & CEO of Ardent Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  Dr. Kent has more than 20 years of pharmaceutical experience. He has supervised dozens of INDs and more than 20 successful NDAs in multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, antivirals, CNS and cardiovascular. He completed his medical training at Harvard (Peter Bent Brigham Hospital), Stanford University Medical Center and Duke University Medical Center, and was a member of Duke University’s medical faculty.  

Steven Hall, Ph.D., Senior VP Research and Development
Formerly Vice President and Director of Sphinx Laboratories, Lilly Research Laboratories, and held senior management positions in medicinal chemistry at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Dr. Hall received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the supervision of Professor William Roush.

Ian A. W. Howes,  CFO & Senior VP Corporate Development 
Formerly CFO and VP Operations at Icoria (formerly Paradigm Genetics). Mr. Howes has 15 years of life sciences experience and has completed several capital markets transactions including two IPOs. Mr. Howes holds a MBA from Kenan Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina and is a Chartered Accountant in England and Wales with “Big 4” public accounting experience.

Anil Goyal, Ph.D., VP Business Development
Formerly Senior Manager of Corporate Development at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Manager of Business Development at Genome Therapeutics Corporation. Dr. Goyal previously held postdoctoral research fellowships at the Center for Agriculture and Environment at Rutgers University and at Merck & Company.

George Young, Senior VP Operations
Prior to founding Serenex, Mr. Young was Vice President of Sales at Biotage, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at BioSepra, and Vice President of Sales at Sepracor.

Judy C. Bryson, Pharm.D., VP Clinical Development
Formerly Vice President, Clinical Development at Pozen Inc., Global Product Team Leader at EMD Pharmaceuticals/Merck KGaA , Therapeutic Director, Oncology and HIV US Medical Affairs  at Glaxo Wellcome , and Director, Oncology, US Medical Affairs Glaxo Wellcome .  Dr. Bryson has over twenty years of  clinical development experience  which includes cytotoxics, therapeutic cancer vaccines and supportive care. Dr. Bryson received her Doctor of Pharmacy from UNC Chapel Hill.

Alexander (Lex) Smith, VP Technical Development 
Formerly VP, Drug Product Development at Fulcrum Pharma Development, and Director of Pharmaceutical Development at Triangle Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Smith has over twenty years of senior CMC experience and has been responsible for the development of drug product, drug formulation and clinical manufacturing. He received his MS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Lehigh University.
